In this session we will explore the nature of the behaviour challenge in our schools and suggest some principles for developing a positive student culture. We’ll draw on educational literature and apply this to the daily challenges school leaders face. We’ll explore why, when it comes to behaviour, one size doesn’t fit all, and why even the most stringent behaviour policy must be rooted in a secure understanding of what it’s like to be a child in a school. Our journey through school transformation will include building effective habits and routines so that pupils are less dependent on adults to behave and to learn.
